Judith R. Mendel  jmendel@mendel‑law.com

Judith R. Mendel concentrates her practice in estate planning, estate taxation planning, long-term care and disability planning and estate administration. Judy is the editor and co-author of Drafting Estate Plans, published in 2004, and updated most recently in 2017, by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE). Judy's publications also include co-authorship of Estate and Gift Tax Planning: The Basics, published by the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA); and Estate Planning Basics, published by MCLE.

Judy has lectured frequently before other attorneys as a faculty member for MCLE and the MBA. She is a 1984 graduate of McGill Law School in Montreal where she lived before moving to Massachusetts, has her Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) in taxation from the Boston University School of Law, and has been a member of the Massachusetts Bar since 1988.


Elizabeth V. Newton  enewton@mendel‑law.com

Elizabeth V. Newton joined Mendel & Associates in 2012 and focuses her practice in estate planning, estate taxation planning, long-term care asset preservation planning, and estate administration. Liz graduated from Boston College in 2006 with a B.A. in Communication and from Northeastern University School of Law in 2011.

Liz is the co-editor of the 2019 edition, and was involved in editing the 2012 and 2017 editions, of Drafting Estate Plans, published by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE). Liz has also lectured on basic estate planning for MCLE and Boston College, and on changes to drafting estate plan documents under the Massachusetts Uniform Probate Code for the Greater Lynn Bar Association.

Liz is the Second Vice President of the Essex County Estate Planning Council, and a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Boston Bar Association, and the Boston Trusts and Estates Consortium.


Ada K. Colomb  acolomb@mendel‑law.com

Ada joined Mendel & Associates in 2019. After receiving her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, with honors, from a top-ranked law school in Ukraine, Ada earned an LL.M. degree in commercial law from Boston College Law School. In addition, Ada studied in Germany at Hamburg University Law School. She subsequently researched at Max Planck Institute, a world-leading research organization. Ada has also published law articles and presented in various countries, including Germany, the U.S. and Canada. Ada was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 2016.

Ada is a member of the Trust & Estates section of the Boston Bar Association. In her spare time Ada plays fetch with her beloved rescue pet.


Christopher J. Catrambone  ccatrambone@mendel‑law.com

Christopher J. Catrambone joined Mendel & Associates in 2020. Much of Chris’ practice involves counselling fiduciaries in the administration and settlement of trusts and estates, including probate administration, asset consolidation and distribution, trust funding, preparation of estate tax returns and post-mortem estate planning strategies. Chris’ practice also includes advising and representing individuals and families in estate planning, tax planning, asset protection strategies and family financial decision-making.

Chris is an alumnus of Western New England University School of Law where he earned his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Estate Planning and Elder Law, Barry University School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.), and Stonehill College where he earned his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Criminology. Prior to joining Mendel & Associates, LLC, Chris established himself by gaining an aggregate of over five years of experience as an associate in the trust and estates department of a medium-sized law firm in Wellesley, running his own estate planning firm and as an associate at a boutique trust and estates firm in the South Shore.

Outside of the office, Chris enjoys working out, hiking, the outdoors, adventure, and travel.
